This year's theme is 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself' and is about helping kids and young people across the UK become more self-aware and figure out what being themselves means.

Know Yourself, Grow Yourself

Kids and young people who understand themselves and their feelings can manage their emotions better and build resilience. The more they grasp their feelings, the easier it is to express them, handle tough situations, and deal with life's ups and downs.

By building a sense of who they are, children and young people can connect with others more easily and develop their own skills:

  • manage their emotions

  • build their resilience

  • create better connections with others

  • develop their skills and talents

  • and improve their self-esteem.

Supporting children and young people

To equip and empower children and young people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland we've pulled together a list or resources and support:

  • Health for Kids is a great website to help parents and their children their feelings.

  • The Health for Teens website has loads of information for teens about wellbeing and where to get support for mental health issues.

  • The Health for Kids website has an entire dedicated area for parents and carers, with articles written by trusted NHS health professionals. They include advice on everything from supporting your child to have a healthy body to a healthy mind.

  • There's a lot of information and local support available for parents and young people around mental health from the NHS.

  • Get free, safe and confidential mental health support from the My Self Referral website, available to young people up to 18 living in Leicester Leicestershire or Rutland.

  • Tellmi offers free digital mental health support, 365 days a year, for anyone aged 11+ in Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland? It's a free app and can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play or check out the offer on Joy for more info.
